Law Office Supervisor I - Indio

The Law Offices of the Public Defender seek to fill a Law Office Supervisor I vacancy for their Indio office. The incumbent will supervise, manage and coordinate complex law office activities related to fiscal, clerical, human resources, and recordkeeping functions. The incumbent will also plan, organize, direct, and perform the work of one or more clerical units comprised of legal dictation and transcribing, legal processing and/or general clerical personnel through subordinate clerical supervisors or lead personnel; and perform other related duties as assigned. Bilingual - Spanish speaking is preferred, but not required.

The Law Office Supervisor I is the entry-level supervisory classification within the Law Office Supervisor series and reports to an appropriate supervisory or manager level position. The Law Office Supervisor I is utilized specifically in law offices in which management and attorneys are unable to direct clerical and support operations due to their overriding work commitments. The volume and complexity of legal clerical work and office management responsibilities is such that incumbents are required to supervise the full range of legal processing and legal clerical duties.
